Podcast episode 1: Processing and mastering our emotions

-Emotions are good they are part of our brain, so you cannot get rid of them.

-You will feel them. No one is exempted from them.

-The is really nothing wrong about feeling a certain way, it is part of our pysche

-Imagine if we could not feel happiness, love or care? Life would be boring right?



-But you have heard people say "No. do feel this way, Don't be sensitive, why are you always emotional?, stop stressing, you are overthinking this, you always take this to heart, just ignore the feeling, don't be too excited...............the list is endless"

-It's as if there is stigma for feeling a certain way.

-Look emotions are good. There is nothing wrong with emotions nothing wrong.

-Our God has emotions, he likes it when give Him attention, praising him and connecting with him in prayer and the Word.

-The trick is not suppress the emotion but rather understand it and process it right.

-Look at infants, that a group that sure knows how to express their emotions.

-But when grow you are told to ignore your emotions which is wrong.

-Our very nature as humanity is Christ centeredness is love, connectedness, care, acceptance, belonging to a community, growth, being appreciated, seen and respected for our efforts.

-THE REAL WORK BEGINS WHEN WE ALLOW OURSELVES TO BE VULNERABLE AND WE START PROCESSING THE EMOTIONS (I CALL IT SORTING THE LAUNDRY AND EMPTING THE WASHING BASKET).

-NOW THAT WORK IS DIFFICULT BUT THE CYCLE MUST BE COMPLETED.

-This is where you pour out your heart in prayer, talk to the Holy Spirit, call a "go to trusted friend", call your psychologist, counsellor, social worker to understand the feeling get perspective.

-After process and look at the emotion you felt before and you come into full understanding of events the you let go of the emotion, the right way!!
