1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
1 KuTimoti 2-1
Ndiyavuselela ngoko kuqala kwiinto zonke, ukuba kwenziwe izikhungo, imithandazo, izibongozo, imibulelo, ngenxa yabantu bonke;2 ngenxa yookumkani nabo bonke abasekongameni, ukuze sihlale ngokonwaba nangokuzola, sinokuhlonela uThixo, nokundileka konke.
12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,and he will divide the spoils with the strong,because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
16 “So do not pray for this people nor offer any plea or petition for them; do not plead with me, for I will not listen to you.
2 We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers.
44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
1 Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.
13 So Moses cried out to the LORD, “Please, God, heal her!”
23 As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right.
